Coal Activated Carbon CAS No.:64365-11-3

Coal Activated Carbon CAS No.:64365-11-3

activated carbon is a type of charcoal. The flavor produced from charcoal will vary depending on the type of wood or coal used to make the charcoal, but activated charcoal will not produce a "stronger" flavor than regular charcoal.

Product Introduction

Activated carbon is with very large internal surface areas characterised by microporosity, have strong adsortion capacity.

It is windly used for water and gas treatment, deodorant, oil refining, power plants, nuclear power, medical, mining, metallurgy, petrochemical, steel, tobacco, fine, chemical industry, ets.

It have three main types: Granular Activated Carbon, Pellet Activated Carbon , Powder Activated Carbon.

Activated carbon, is a specially treated carbon that heats organic raw materials (rice husks, coal, wood, etc.) in the absence of air to reduce non-carbon components (this process is called carbonization), and then Reacting with the gas, the surface is corroded to produce a microporous structure (this process is called activation).

  1. Because the activation process is a microscopic process, that is, the surface erosion of a large number of molecular carbides is point erosion, resulting in numerous small pores on the surface of activated carbon.

  2. The diameter of micropores on the surface of activated carbon is mostly between 2-50nm.

  3. Even a small amount of activated carbon has a huge surface area. The surface area per gram of activated carbon is 500-1500m2.

  4. Almost all applications of activated carbon are based on this characteristic of activated carbon.

  5. Activated carbon is divided into granular activated carbon (GAC), powdered activated carbon (PAC), extruded activated carbon (EAC,Extruded activated carbon is a highly adapted form of activated carbon used mainly for water, air, alcohol and other liquid filtration.

  6. This type of activated carbon is created by extruding together small particles of activated carbon into a block-like form.

  7. An extrusion process is used to create extremely porous channels, providing greater surface area for better removal of contaminants.

  8. These properties enable it to effectively remove contaminants such as heavy metals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other water toxins.), impregnated carbon, etc.

  9. Activated carbon is used in air purification, gold purification, water purification, sewage treatment, and many other applications
