Concrete: As an external admixture for concrete, polyacrylamide can enhance the interaction between concrete particles, thereby increasing the strength and toughness of concrete. Polyacrylamide functions in construction materials such as concrete, putty powder, and mortar through flocculation, water retention, thickening, adhesion, and lubrication. Additionally, polyacrylamide exhibits ultra-high viscosity in other building materials and, due to its unique molecular structure, provides excellent water retention. It is commonly used as a thickener in putty powder, a binder for refractory materials, and a thickening and water-retaining agent in mortar.

Sludge Treatment: Construction piling and tunnel excavation generate large amounts of sludge, which contains substantial suspensions of fine mud particles. In infrastructure projects, polyacrylamide is used as a mud-water separation agent to improve flocculation and sedimentation effects, thereby enhancing mud-water separation.

Dry Mortar: In dry mortar, polyacrylamide acts as a thickener and can improve flexural strength, impermeability, bond strength, and other properties.

Coatings: The polyacrylamide used in coatings is generally non-ionic.

Adhesives: Thickeners are commonly used in construction adhesives.
