Product Description
Polyacrylamide ( PAM ) is a linear polymer. As a lubricant, suspension agent, clay stabilizer, oil displacement agent, fluid loss additive, and thickener, it has been widely used in drilling, acidification, fracturing, water plugging, cementing, secondary oil recovery, and tertiary oil recovery. It is an extremely important oilfield chemical.
Polyacrylamide has good flocculation properties and can reduce the frictional resistance between liquids. It can be divided into three types based on ionic characteristics: non ionic polyacrylamide ( NPAM ), anionic polyacrylamide ( APAM ), and cationic polyacrylamide ( CPAM ).
Differences in PAM products in sewage treatment
Cationic polyacrylamide ( CPAM ) is mainly used for sludge dewatering in urban sewage treatment plants, such as grain alcohol wastewater, papermaking wastewater, beer wastewater, monosodium glutamate wastewater, sugar wastewater, high organic wastewater, beverage wastewater, textile printing and dyeing wastewater, and other industries as coagulant aids and sludge dewatering agents. In addition, cationic PAM can also be used as oilfield chemical additives, such as clay anti swelling agents, thickening agents for oilfield acidification, and reinforcing agents for papermaking.

Anionic polyacrylamide ( APAM ) is mainly used to treat neutral suspensions mainly composed of inorganic solids. In mining, it is used for clarification of coal washing water and flotation tailings, filtration of clean coal, dewatering of tailings (slag), clarification of flotation tailings, thickening and filtration of concentrate, clarification of potassium alkali hot solution and flotation processing fluid, clarification of flotation tailings of fluorite and barite, as well as clarification of raw salt water and sludge dewatering for salt processing, and treatment of phosphate ore recovery water. In the casting and metal manufacturing industries, it is used for the purification of gas washing and coating water in open hearth furnaces, the clarification of wastewater from powder metallurgy and acid pickling plants, the purification of electrolytes, and the clarification of electroplating waste liquid.

Non ionic polyacrylamide ( NPAM ) can be used as an auxiliary agent in the textile industry. When some other chemicals are added, it can be formulated into a chemical slurry for textile sizing to improve adhesion, permeability, and desizing performance, making the fabric anti-static, reducing sizing rate, reducing warping spots, fabric machine breakage rate, and debris. Non ionic polyacrylamide is mainly used as a sewage treatment agent, suitable for acidic suspensions, and suitable for use as a flocculant. At this time, PAM plays an adsorption bridging role, causing suspended particles to flocculate and precipitate, achieving the goal of purifying water.
